Vintage Rolex Precision 9ct Gold Cocktail Watch | c.1960s

A beautifully delicate vintage Rolex Precision cocktail watch, dating to circa the 1960s and crafted in 9ct yellow gold.

The petite 15mm round case houses a classic silvered dial, finished with applied gold baton hour markers, gold-tone hands and the Rolex coronet at twelve. The case is complemented by unusual sculpted leaf-shaped lugs, giving the watch a distinctly jewellery-like appearance on the wrist.

Inside is the signed Rolex calibre 1400, a 17-jewel mechanical manual-wind movement. The watch has been fully serviced and is running beautifully.

It has been fitted with a new black corded strap, which suits the original mid-century cocktail-watch styling wonderfully, while retaining its original Rolex gold-plated buckleand signed Rolex crown.

The watch weighs approximately 9g gross and is supplied with a Rolex pouch.

Elegant, understated and wonderfully wearable, this is a lovely example of the tiny jewellery watches Rolex produced during the mid-20th century. Its 15mm proportions make it feel more like a piece of fine jewellery on the wrist, while the signed Rolex mechanical movement gives it all the charm of a traditional vintage watch.
