A wonderfully elegant vintage Jaeger-LeCoultre ladies’ watch, crafted in 9ct gold and finished with an unusually substantial integrated bracelet.
Dating to around the 1960s, this beautiful piece sits somewhere between fine jewellery and traditional Swiss watchmaking. The small round case is framed by a highly decorative bracelet formed from sculptural interlocking links, giving the watch far more presence on the wrist than its petite proportions might suggest.
The champagne-toned dial has a classic mid-century look, with applied gold hour markers, Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9, and slender gold-tone hands. The overall effect is refined and distinctly feminine, while still retaining the clean, understated style associated with Jaeger-LeCoultre watches of the period.
One of the most charming details is the back-winding manual movement, an unusual construction that keeps the profile of the watch neat and jewellery-like when worn.
At approximately 27 grams gross, this is also a notably substantial vintage gold watch, with the bracelet contributing much of its weight and character. It feels far more luxurious in the hand than many petite ladies’ watches from the same era.
The watch has been fully serviced and is presented in particularly lovely vintage condition.
A beautiful example of mid-century Jaeger-LeCoultre design and an especially attractive choice for someone looking for a vintage gold watch that wears as much like a piece of fine jewellery as it does a timepiece.
