A striking vintage Jaeger-LeCoultre Bamboo dress watch, crafted in solid 18ct yellow gold and accompanied by its original Jaeger-LeCoultre presentation box and service documentation.

The wonderfully distinctive case is the star of this 1970's piece. Measuring approximately 28 x 30mm, the square profile is framed by deeply sculpted, graduated gold ridges inspired by bamboo canes. The result is a watch that feels as much like a piece of fine jewellery as traditional Swiss watchmaking.

The crisp white dial provides a beautiful contrast against the warm 18ct yellow gold case, with elongated black Roman numerals arranged around the perimeter and slender dark hands. At just approximately 3mm deep, the case has an exceptionally elegant, low profile on the wrist.

Inside is a signed Jaeger-LeCoultre manual-wind mechanical movement, while the interior of the case is also signed Jaeger-LeCoultre and marked 18K / 750, confirming its solid 18ct gold construction.

The watch is currently fitted with a rich brown lizard strap and a standard gold-plated buckle. Importantly, its original Jaeger-LeCoultre gold-plated buckle is also included, allowing the next owner to retain this original component while keeping it separate from everyday wear.

Weighing approximately 31 grams gross, this is a substantial example of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s vintage gold dress watches despite its beautifully slim proportions.

The watch has been fully serviced and remains in beautiful condition. Its original Jaeger-LeCoultre box and accompanying service document add considerably to what is already an unusual and exceptionally elegant vintage piece.

A superb example of the more decorative side of Jaeger-LeCoultre: unmistakably 1970s in character, yet remarkably wearable today.
