Vintage 1965 Omega Ladymatic 9ct Gold Automatic Ladies Watch

A beautiful 1965 Omega Ladymatic, crafted in solid 9ct yellow gold and powered by Omega’s wonderfully compact automatic movement. The Ladymatic was an important model for Omega, combining the convenience of automatic winding with the elegant proportions expected of a ladies’ dress watch during the period.

The silvered dial has a lovely understated finish, complemented by applied gold baton hour markers, gold hands and the original Omega applied logo, with the distinctive scripted“Ladymatic” signature above six o’clock.

Inside is the Omega calibre 661, a 24-jewel automatic movement. The movement is correctly signed OMEGA WATCH Co SWISS, with the calibre number clearly visible. This was one of Omega’s miniature automatic calibres developed specifically to allow the brand to produce exceptionally petite self-winding ladies’ watches.

The solid 9ct gold case measures approximately 19mm including the crown, retaining its elegant elongated lugs and original gold crown. It is paired with a classic black leather-effect strap and 9ct gold buckle, giving the watch a timeless black-and-gold finish.

Dating to 1965, this is a particularly charming example of mid-century Omega design and a lovely alternative to the more commonly encountered manual-wind ladies’ watches of the era.
